Introduction
Here are lessons that you can do just about anywhere at anytime. The key is to start slowly and gently, if you're looking for that "stretch" feeling then you're doing too much.
Steps to Success:
- Insist on comfort ...if anything you're doing is painful or uncomfortable, that's what your brain will remember. The point is to create new options of ease and effortless movement. You can always do all or part of the lesson in your imagination.
- Go slowly and repeat the movements mindfully...think of starting these movements with the pace of an ant crawling along the floor and gradually increasing range of motion as you learn what movements are best for you.
- Rest often...better, do a few movements with high quality attention and rest to allowing yourself to process the shifts. Just like on the computer, when you press "enter" and it looks for the connection, the rests allow your brain and body to download new information and recalibrate your alignment.
- Look for pleasant sensations...your body wants to feel good and if you embrace a new feeling as just that, something new and different, it is a huge opportunity to have new options in the way you move through life.
- Take care of yourself...if you were in my class or on my table, I would have the visual of how you're doing these lessons. In virtual reality I trust that you'll listen to yourself and learn from the intelligence of your body.
