Caught On The Web and Launching Insight

Posted in Uncategorized at 3:42 pm by Darcia

When the student is ready, the teacher appears...so the ancient saying goes. This year I met some incredible people who have been instrumental in helping me move forward with my website business from its conception three years ago. In addition to the tremendous support from my core group of practitioner friends, the intention was put forth into action and here it is, as we say in Felden-speak, "the first approximation".

I ask myself, "What stopped me before? How did I get in my own way?"

There are so many excellent practitioners out there with great websites and the process has been helpful for me to re-visit some of my theme issues such as: What is my place in Big Picture? Why is it so easy to miscommunicate through email? Do I really want to create a place where people spend more time in front of the computer, including myself? Every time I doubted what I was doing, I'd get another sign that I was on track... an email or phone call with encouraging words from trusted friends and advisors, clients who would ask, "Do you have any tapes or CDs I can listen to?"

The Feldenkrais Method® is about differentiating and integrating ...which applies to the way we move ourselves through the world including the way we do business and have an impact on others. "When you know what you're doing, you can do what you want" is one of the classic quotes from Moshe Feldenkrais. Why a website? Right now I have a great private practice and with the help of many teachers I get to expand my public practice.

This site is here to help you move through life with ease and efficiency. Each month the Lessons provide a theme. The Practitioner Spotlight will give you an audio lesson from a renowned movement teacher. Most of the lessons are designed to move you in 5 minutes or less. "Calming the Nervous System" from Lavinia Plonka's audio CD "Have A Comfortable Flight" is a great lesson for travel and a quick de-stress for the holidays.

The written lesson "Pushing Through" and an upcoming series of audio lessons to help you start "Reaching for your Goals" in the New Year. Every month you'll also get a quick tip while driving (What Drives You?) which will get you out of the movement traffic jam. Check out Events for the latest happenings and sign up for the monthly newsletter starting in January.

As we build the Feldenkrais® Central community, I look forward to your questions, comments, and suggestions to keep this website moving forward...and I'm always curious... What Moves You?

Cheers to the next approximation!
